After spending hundreds of hours of hard work,
research and invention, we are now proud to present
our new Reason refill:
 |
QUICKSILVER
- a powerful Synthesizer NNXTension for
your Advanced Sampler
This refill is not 'just another refill'
or a sampler CD that happens to support
the Reason Refill format!
Instead, QUICKSILVER is a refill
version of the Yamaha QS300 synthesizer,
or to be more precise, the enlarged refill
version that nearly gives you a new device
to your Reason environment. To understand
this, we have to see, how QS300 works...

The Yamaha QS300 is a very rich-sounding
synthesizer, because it uses a multi-layer structure,
every layer has its own envelope, filter, etc.
We can create wonderful pads, endless morphing
textures and some other warm and fat patches...
but!
If you record these sounds, you will loose the
possibility of alteration later: you can not change
the parameters of each layer independently, only
for the whole mixed samples. It's just like a
snapshot... sounds good but less versatile.
Instead of this method, we have choosen a more
complicated way. The QS300 uses small parts (in
Yamaha terminology: elements) to build its sound:
every layer is based on an element. We broke down
the sounds of the QS300 to these elements, recorded
all of them, and then we completely rebuilt
the multilayered patches in NNXT.
The result was very surprising for us and defenitely
it proves the power of NNXT advanced sampler!:)
The NNXT provides a lot of very sophisticated
options, many of these features and nuances probably
remain hidden from the users unless somebody programs
NNXT for 8 months on every blessed day...;-)

for a pre-digested loop collection or passages,
this CD is not for you. But if you are a musician
who want a rich-sounding synthesizer, you
will love this refill!:) |

Sequencer, SpecialFX.
•• NN19 instruments
: 210 patches - the elements
We have also included these elements in the
refill, we think they are useful for creating
new QS patches. They can be divided into three
parts:
• Basic Elements (163 patches):
(Brass&Reed, Chromatic&Organ, Ethnic,
Guitar&Bass, Loop&Misc, OneCycleWaves,
Percussive&FX, Piano&Keybrds, String&Ens)
• More Elements (22 patches):
they come from other synthesizers to make the
QUICKSILVER more rich and versatile.
• Complex patches (26 patches):
the fastest way to get complex sounds, these QS300
presets sound very rich in themselves.
• The samples
You can find in this folder 1696 wav files.
They constitute the "core" of the elements
and some complex patches.

On the one hand these patches try to demonstate
the value of NNXT and on the other hand, they
demonstrate how versatile the use of QS300 elements
can be !:)

It's not a new one, maybe a well-known free refill
of PNS, you have already been able to download
this refill from Propellerhead's free refill section
since 2002. This refill was born when we started
the QUICKSILVER project.
It contains NN19 patches that is based on complex
samples, not on elements:
