NN-XT Bank

For full details please check out the ORANGE 2.5 Patch list  (536 kB, PDF file)

The current bank contains 735 NN-XT patches. They have been arranged in the following 12 categories:

[All Complex layers]
The elements or ‘sub-patches’ of the complex Microwave patches.

[All Simple Oscillators]
Collection of basic waveforms of Waldorf Microwave XT. Use them as your starting point to create new patches.

Ambient & Atmosphere
Slow morphing, atmospheric or psychedelic pads. Use them at your own risk!;-)

Arp & Sequencer
These are mostly tempo-synced rhytmic sounds. Wide range of panned, sound-morphing instruments, they are for speeding up your arrangements with fast played melody lines.

Bass [poly]
Polyphonic basses in various styles, but some of them can be used as lead or rhythm accompaniments as well.

Bell & Organ
Chromatic instruments, a bunch of bell-type sounds, and some electric organ sounds.

Drum & Percussion
Some noise-based rhytmic non-melodic patches and several General midi mapped drumsets

Experimental & FX
Special effects : disgusting noises, messages from the space, some tempo synced stuff.

Key & Polysynth
Piano type keyboards and synth sounds for accompaniments and typical synth-brass stabs.

Lead [poly]
Polyphonic lead synthesizer sounds that you can use as melody instruments in front of your mix.

Monosynth
Mono basses and leads, we can’t do without them! ;-)

Pad & String
A wide range of complex and rich-sounding synthesizer sounds for use in the background of your mix.

Combinator Bank

The Combinator Bank contains 104 unique combi instrument devices in the following categories:

Bass & Lead

Key & Polysynth

Contents of the multisamples

The multisample library (included) can be used with other samplers like Kontakt or EXS24. All samples are perfectly looped and contain the unity note information for quick auto-mapping. We use multisamples: it means that every layer consists of 12 wav files from C2 to A6.

Simple Oscillators (2221 samples - 280 MB)

These small multisamples are quite similar to PROTON’s oscillators: simple waveforms and morphing wavetables of Waldorf Microwave. Using them in a multilayer structure you can get fantastic sounding patches.

Complex Sounds (1321 samples - 1350 MB)

Complex sounds are very rich sounding Microwave XT sounds. Consequently they are quite large. We recorded different filter settings, velocity variations to get a wide range of dynamic, vivid sounds.

Soundfont edition

ORANGE2 is also available in E-MU SoundFont 2.1 format. This package is based on the complex sounds of ORANGE2, and gives you a great compatibility with all major samplers.

For more info about this edition please check the manual in PDF format.
