The number preceding the instrument groups is important. This is the so-called program number, i.e. the serial number of the instrument within the bank.

Although Reason doesn't support the program change command, it's useful to know, which instrument should be loaded into a GM midi file.

We recommend to use the Sweet MIDI Player : it's a little program that opens MIDI-files and you can see their instrument usage - and also the settings for reverb, chorus and volume for each track. This information is very useful when the MIDI-file is later imported into Reason/proVitamin (thanks to Michal for the tip!:D).    Sweet MIDI Player
